How it all started<\/strong><\/p>\nIn 1973, began with some pigeons by Uncle Jos Dillen, who also became the teacher of Dirk van Dyck. There were then pigeons from Frans van Beirendonck, Andr\u00e9 Bellens, Gerard Kesselaers, all breeders who played excellently on the short distance, to. Over the years reinforcements have been made to Gommer Leysen (lines “Oude 03”), Mari\u00ebn-Royberghs, Louis Adriaenssens, Eduard Moons, Jules Verbeeck, Van Looy-Somers, Marina Van de Velde, LJB Geerinckx (in exchange), Leo Heremans, ( “Di Caprio” was purchased), brought in by Gaston Van de Wouwer, Willy Daniels, Marcel Wouters, Jan Hooijmans and bosom friend Eddy Janssens.<\/p>\n
However, a pigeon, the “Kannibaal” B95 \/ 6246005, provided the undisputed turning point in Dirk Van Dijck’s pigeon racing career. He not only became 1st National AS Dove Halve Fond and flew 1st Marne 856 Tbn., 1st Dourdan 694 Tbn., 1st Noyon 157 Tbn., 1st Dourdan 727 Tbn., 3rd Dourdan 1060 Tbn ., 5. Noyon 290 Tbn., 7. Dourdan 1004 Tbn., 7. Prov. Orleans 5140 Tbn., But he turned out to be probably the best sire of all time.<\/p>\n

His descendants have been distributed in all directions over the last 20 years and have produced extraordinary success everywhere. Let us confine ourselves to a few essential examples.<\/p>\n
For the Gouden Duif auction in 1996 Dirk donated a direct daughter of the “Kannibaal”. This, later called “Golden Lady” female, was bought by Gerard Koopman and became i.a. Mother of the “Little Dirk” NL-98-5821416, 1st Nat. AS pigeon Vredesduif 1999.<\/p>\n
“Little Dirk” is even the father of the female “Dirkje” bought by Jan Hooymans. “Dirkje” is mother of the exceptional hood “Harry”, 1st prize from Blois against 37,728 Tbn. and 1st prize Chateauroux against 22,340 Tbn.<\/p>\n
Two full brothers of the “Golden Lady” are today the master pigeons of Jan and Rik Hermans.<\/p>\n
Another sister is ‘Yzra’, one of the parent pigeons of Peter Veenstra and mother of the “Special Blue”.<\/p>\n
A brother of the “Kannibaal”, the “Little Gert” B96-6452295, is based on the success doves of Leo Heremans. So one of his offspring is the “Euro” B- 03-6192564, 1st West European AS-Dove snelheid 2003, and today’s progenitor at Eijerkamp & Sons.<\/p>\n
The bird “Kleinzoon Kannibaal” B02-6503571 at Kristiaan Hennes brings the “842\/03”, Father Balloon, 1st Int.Prov. Argenton against 3,136 pigeons. Father “097\/10” current top breeder with Gaby Vandenabeele and father of the “Benji 855” 6 x 1st prize. “731\/05 Christianne” Super breeding female at Deno Herbots. Mother “Lola” 1st Nat. Argenton against 21092 Tbn. and mother of “Garmin” 1. S. Nat. Argenton against 5883 Tbn.<\/p>\n
“Little Dirk” B03-6086339, a grandson of “Den Bourges” is the current ancestor of Jespers – Vanderwegen. Father of “Lady Fleur” 2. Nat. Bourges against 30,748 pigeons.<\/p>\n

“Grijze Kannibaal” B97-2288462, son of Brother Rambo was the super breeder with Patricia Verhaegen. He is also grandfather of the “Kai-Mook”, 1st Olympic pigeon Poznan 2011 with Guido Loockx and grandfather “Olympic Mila”, 2nd Olympic pedigree Cat. B Nitra 2013 at Daniel Parijs.<\/p>\n
“Sunny Rambo” B05-6407897, grandson of “Rambo” by Dirk Van Dijck becomes grandfather of 3 different national zone winners at Thijs – Peters.<\/p>\n
At Vanoppen – Luyten the pigeons of Dirk Van Dyck are at the base of the exceptional breeding strike. The “Kleine Kannibaal” B04-2198281 is the first grandfather and already in the 4th generation brings exceptional pigeons in breeding and travel up to national AS pigeons, national winners and Olympic pigeons.<\/p>\n
Bosmans – Leekens win in 2014 the 1st National Chateauroux against 5,901 Tbn. In the mother sits 3 times the line of “Kannibaal”!<\/p>\n
Especially in Germany descendants of the “Kannibaal” have left their mark. TOP breeders like G\u00fcnter Prange or Heinz Meier had national AS pigeons with offspring of the “Kannibaal”. Or let’s think of the “Kannibaal Paar” by Klaus Steineker, who is still responsible for the first prizes and top performances on many occasions. Dieter W\u00f6hr is currently playing top prizes with offspring of his friend Dirk van Dyck.<\/p>\n
Also the winner of the SAMDPR 2014 in South Africa of the unfortunately deceased Karl Ziefle was a progeny pigeon of the “Kannibaal” by Dirk van Dyck.<\/p>\n
The list could continue indefinitely.<\/p>\n
Of course, the “cannibal” has found its end of life on its home beat. He could not fly his last months and Dirk built a small staircase so he could walk into the aviary. He died at Nikolaus 2010.<\/p>\n
Today, around 80% of the loft from Dirk van Dyck’s descendants of “Den Bourges” and “Kannibaal”.<\/p>\n
Acquisition of the “Di Caprio”<\/strong><\/p>\nIn 2007, the loft Heremans-Ceusters was struck by a theft. Reason enough for Leo Heremans to sell almost all pigeons. Dirk van Dijk had fixed on the Kaufnumer 167 “Di Caprio” B-05-6045015, who even with the 1st Quievrain against 1928 Tbn., 1st Quievrain against 1580 Tbn. and 1. Quievrain 1278 Tbn. showed what is in him. So the “Di Caprio” came to Zandhoven and showed that he was an excellent choice.<\/p>\n

\nHe became the father of the “Olympic Niels”, Olympiadeduif Nitra 2013, and grandfather of the “Natalia”, 1st national Bourges 2014 and many other very good pigeons. But on other strokes, the offspring show their class. The “Golden Capri” with Gerard Koopman, from “Di Caprio” x daughter “Kannibaal”, is father of “Kyara”, Olympiad Pigeon Budapest 2015. “Caprina” by Verbree, also from “Di Caprio” x daughter “Kannibaal”, is the dam of “Samanta”, 1st national AS pigeon WHZB \/ TBOTB 2015. The German breeder Heinrich Lepper also breeds his Olympic pigeon from a son “Di Caprio”.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately in 2014 “Di Caprio” stopped fertilizing in the middle of summer. But his son “Olympic Niels” is already his equal successor.<\/p>\n

\"Olympic Niels\" is already father of 141-13 and 142-13, 1st and 2nd AS-Dove Union Antwerp 2014. He is also\r\n grandfather of 1st Dourdan against 4157 Tbn. at Mertens-De Wolf and grandfather of \"Friendship\" by Rik Hermans,\r\n 1st national Chateauroux against 25,710 Tbn.<\/span><\/pre>\nEverything goes with the females<\/strong><\/p>\nWere formerly the big victories with the widowbirds so it is today the females, which cause a sensation with Dirk van Dyck. In particular, Bart Geerinckx and Gaston Van de Wouwer have inspired him a lot.<\/p>\n
The most successful females of recent times are “Karolina”, 2nd national Chateauroux 2013 against 19.691 tbn., “Natalia”, 1st national Bourges 2014 against 10.141 tbn. and “Queen” as well as “Little Queen” who became 1st and 3rd National AS pigeon halve fond KBDB 2015.<\/p>\n
Good pigeons need a good supply<\/strong><\/p>\nDirk has been trusting the feed mixes of Beyers for years. During the travel season 50% Wal Zoontjes and 50% Elite Recup will be given at the beginning of the week. Then 50% Prange Grand Prix and 50% Elite Recup and the last days 50% Prange Grand Prix and 50% Brilliant, 100% Brilliant on the day of use.<\/p>\n
The young pigeons first get a breeding mixture after weaning and when they start to fly, moulting by Beyers. During the travel season, they are fed geanuso like the old pigeons.<\/p>\n
For many years Avidress Plus von R\u00f6hnfried has been drinking water, with the exception of the working day.\r\n In very warm weather Avipharm is added. Other R\u00f6hnfried products that are administered are R\u00f6hnfried gamma\r\n with protein K + K and Avipharm on arrival from the race. Witch beer, oregano and Gerwit-W are given to all pigeons when needed.<\/span><\/pre>\nSince Dirk van Dyck has changed his ventilation on the travel fittings, not much medicine has to be given. \r\nBefore the season, old and young pigeons are gekurt 7 days against Tricomonads. Late returnees get a 1\/4 Tabeltte Flagyl.<\/span><\/pre>\nAfter the flying season, all pigeons will receive Baytril against Paratyphus for 10 days. On the other hand, they are only kurted and not vaccinated.<\/span><\/pre>\nThe prescribed vaccination against Paramyxo takes place in spring and only the youngsters are treated for smallpox.<\/p>\n
Dirk van Dyck - the Keizer KBDB Antwerp<\/span><\/strong><\/pre>\nThe absolute class of the van Dyck pigeons is not only shown in the individual pigeon competitions but especially in the provincial and national championships.
